Location of the Belém Tower
The Belém Tower stands at Avenida Brasília, 1400-038 Lisbon. It occupies a position on the northern bank of the Tagus River in the Santa Maria de Belém parish. The monument is situated near other historical landmarks, including the Jerónimos Monastery and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, which are located within walking distance to the east.
The tower sits on a small island of basaltic rocks near the shore. Visitors access the entrance via a walkway. Because the monument is located in a high-traffic maritime area, the surrounding park offers open views of the 25 de Abril Bridge and the Atlantic horizon.
